We recently stayed at Castello Di Spaltenna and it was the highlight of our trip to Italy. Nestled in the Tuscany hills, the hotel provided a quiet and peaceful getaway. The outside grounds and gardens were absolutely stunning, creating a picturesque setting. The wait staff at both the gourmet meal and breakfast were exceptional, providing excellent service. Speaking of breakfast, it was truly fantastic. The buffet spread on the terrace was amazing, and the scrambled eggs were to die for. The large and comfortable room, along with the great pool and whirlpool, made our stay even more enjoyable. We can't wait to return!
We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

The hotel staff was extremely nice, the food was excellent, and the room was beautiful and authentic. The shower is very indulging except that for some bizarre reason there's no shower curtain. The service is superb and they clean and tidy the room again during dinner. The area is amazing and peaceful. It's quite an expensive place but it's worth it if you're looking for unique accommodation.
Shower curtain would have been nice. You definitely do pay more for being in a castle.

The setting and grounds were spectacular. We even had our own little balcony and private entrance. Double sinks and jacuzzi made it luxurious.
The bed was big but the mattress was not comfortable.

The staff were lovely and warm when we checked in. Town is very close but you still feel in touch with the countryside.
You have to pay to use the amenities per day which is 10 euro per person. We needed a DVD player and instead of politely telling us that they wouldnt be able to provide us with one to borrow - one of the reception staff was quite rude and unhelpful. Shame otherwise almost perfect!

It was beautifully maintained and classically decorated room, the beds were comfortable. The setting of hotel was stunning, in the Chianti mountains. After long day I visited Taverna le Cose Buone for a couple of drinks.
Nothing to be said.

The noise from neighboring rooms and outside events can occasionally disrupt the tranquility of the stay.

The beautiful atmosphere afforded by the Italian location.
Quite surprised to find large noisy groups arrive from the usa who wanted to enjoy themselves as a party. That's fine, but the Castello Di Spaltenna is a boutique hotel in a tranquil location that requests quiteness and respect for other guests. The less than tranquil tones of our American friends meant days intended for relaxing by the pool were abandoned.

Beautiful views of the Chianti countryside. Good breakfast on the terrace overlooking the valley below. Good facilities - swimming pool, tennis courts and helpful guides to local trecking. Staff helpful and unobtrusive.
Restaurant could be better value for money

The silence and peace at the spa was amazing; La Terrazza Restaurant served light and delicious dishes; breakfast on the terrace was a treat; the surroundings were beautiful with castles and ruins. The courtyard was perfect for romantic candlelit dinners.
Oh, and who needs tea and coffee in the room? Definitely not me.
